Scarlet isopods (Ardentiella sp., formerly Merulanella sp.) are one of the most striking premium isopods in the US hobby. Originally from Vietnam, these collector grade isopods stand out with their vivid scarlet red coloration, accented by custard yellow and jet black. Like their close relative the Ember Bee, they are unusually active and bold, frequently climbing and displaying themselves in the open rather than hiding in the substrate. A large, vibrant Ardentiella, they make a true display centerpiece for any collection.
